Terms & Conditions / Sales Policy

    • Payment secures the gown immediately.

    • Gowns are sold as-is, one size only, and may not be reserved without payment.

    • Prices are listed in AUD and include GST where applicable.

    • All sales are final.

    • No refunds, exchanges, or laybys are offered.

  • Alterations are optional and provided by a third party. Fees and scheduling are arranged directly with the alterations specialist.

  • L’Archive accepts designer gowns on consignment. Consignment sellers receive payment only after the gown sells. Commission and sale terms are clearly agreed upon before listing.

    • Gowns are sold as-is. L’Archive Bridal makes every effort to accurately describe size, condition, and measurements. Minor wear or alterations history will always be disclosed.

    • L’Archive Bridal is not responsible for damage or loss after collection.

    South Australian Collection

    • Collection is at L’Archive Shop during opening hours.

    • Jodee from The Fitting Room Alterations Studio will contact you after purchase to schedule your collection and any optional alterations.

    • Alterations are separate from gown purchase and arranged directly with the alterations studio.

    • We collect your personal information (name, email, phone, address) for order processing, communication, and shipping.

    • Your details will never be sold or shared outside of necessary service providers (e.g., shipping, alterations booking).

    • You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.

  • Eligibility

    • Only designer bridal gowns in excellent condition are accepted.

    • Gowns must be professionally cleaned before listing.

    Commission & Payment

    • L’Archive takes a percentage commission on each sale (e.g., 40%).

    • Payment is issued to the seller after the gown sells.

    Listing Terms

    • Gowns are listed with professional photos and accurate descriptions.

    • Price adjustments may be made at L’Archive’s discretion to maximize sale potential.

    Duration & Unsold Items

    • Standard consignment period: 6 months.

    • Unsold gowns may be returned to the seller at their expense or extended upon request.

  • Condition, Wear & Tear + Damage Terms (Consignment Gowns)

    1. General Wear & Tear
    Consigned gowns will be tried on in-store and handled by clients. Minor wear consistent with normal bridal try-ons is expected and accepted. This includes:

    • Light marks or makeup transfer

    • Minor loosening of threads, buttons, or fastenings

    • General fabric softening from handling

    This level of wear does not constitute damage.

    2. Natural Ageing & Fabric Changes
    While all care is taken, L’Archive Bridal is not responsible for natural changes over time, including:

    • Fading, yellowing, or discolouration

    • Fabric or embellishment deterioration due to age or prior wear

    3. Minor Damage (Repairable)
    If a gown incurs minor damage beyond standard wear (e.g. small tear, loose beading, broken zip):

    • We may arrange professional repair and/or cleaning

    • Costs may be covered at our discretion

    All repairs will aim to return the gown to a sale-ready condition.

    4. Damage Requiring Repair (Up to 20% of agreed resale price)

    If a gown incurs damage requiring repair:

    • We will arrange professional repair and/or cleaning

    • We will cover costs up to 20% of the agreed resale price

    5. Significant Damage (Exceeding 20% of agreed resale price)

    If repair costs are assessed to exceed 20% of the agreed resale price:

    • The gown will be considered significantly damaged

    • It will be treated under Clause 6 (Major Damage)

    6. Major Damage or Loss
    If a gown is:

    • Damaged beyond reasonable repair, or

    • Repair costs exceed 20% of the agreed resale price, or

    • Lost while under our care

    The gown will be deemed un-sellable, and:

    • The Consignor will be compensated 100% of the agreed resale price

    Where applicable, this may be processed via store insurance.

    7. Customer-Caused Damage
    If damage is clearly caused by a client during an appointment:

    • We reserve the right to seek recovery of repair or replacement costs from the client

    However, recovery is not guaranteed. The Consignor will still be compensated in line with the above clauses.

    8. Cleaning Responsibility

    • All gowns must be professionally cleaned prior to consignment

    • Standard end-of-consignment cleaning remains the Consignor’s responsibility

    • Cleaning required due to damage while in-store will be covered in line with the above terms
