The bridal industry has failed plus size brides for a very long time.

For years, many bridal stores have operated with limited sample sizing, often only stocking gowns in standard sample sizes around 10–12. This leaves so many brides walking into appointments already feeling excluded before they have even stepped into a dress.

At L’Archive Bridal, we knew from the beginning that we wanted to do better. We are actively working towards this.

Representation Matters In Bridal

Bridal should never feel like something reserved only for one body type.

Every bride deserves to feel:

• comfortable

• celebrated

• stylish

• confident

• welcomed within the experience

Yet so many plus size brides have stories of being told there is “nothing available to try on” or needing to imagine how a gown might look without ever actually seeing it on their body.

That experience can feel isolating and discouraging, especially during such an emotional time.

Actively Growing Our Plus Size Collection

We are intentionally and actively seeking more plus size gowns for our Pre-Loved Secondhand Adelaide bridal collection.

Not as an afterthought.

But because inclusive bridal sizing genuinely matters to us.

Our goal is to continue building a collection that allows more brides to physically try gowns on, explore different silhouettes, and experience the excitement of bridal styling without limitation.

Bridal Styling Is Not One Size Fits All

Different bodies suit different silhouettes, fabrics, structures, and styling approaches.

A huge part of our role is understanding the person wearing the gown not forcing the bride into a predetermined idea of what bridal should look like.

We believe styling should feel collaborative, thoughtful, and supportive.
